ORYXE® RFT

ORYXE Energy has developed a breakthrough additive called ORYXE® RFT to improve efficiency and reduce harmful emissions in residual oil-fired boilers and process heaters.

Value Proposition
Operators of boilers and process heaters are constantly challenged to reduce emissions and increase production of efficiency. Testing has proven that ORYXE RFT provides significant emissions reductions and improves furnace heat transfer. Residual oil-fired plants will experience reduced black smoke emissions from their exhaust stack and improved overall efficiency with the use of ORYXE RFT. The efficiency improvement often offsets the cost of the additive, thus providing users with an emission reduction program that requires no large capital expense and little to no operational expense.

The Product
ORYXE Energy additive technology is based on materials that are biodegradable, non-toxic, and compatible with fossil fuel, oxygenated fuel, biomass fuel or biodiesel. The technology is unique because of the proprietary and precise combination of hydro-carbon based materials that have a significant impact on the combustion process, yet remain extremely cost-effective to the end user.

Based on Proven Technology
ORYXE Energy’s new technology has already been proven to reduce emissions in diesel fuel. The technology was used to develop an alternative diesel formulation, approved by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), to meet the new Low Emission Diesel standards in Texas. The immediate success of this product, called ORYXE LED, also proves ORYXE Energy’s ability to meet its promise to supply a revolutionary new additive to the market.

Testing
Testing has been conducted at world-class combustion laboratories, including:
  • The DOE approved Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC) at the University of North Dakota
  • The CANMET Energy Technology Center in Ottawa, Canada
  • The IPT Environmental and Energy Technology Center in São Paulo, Brazil
A field test also was conducted at a major refinery.

PM reductions as high as 63% were achieved. NOx was typically reduced by 34%, CO by 50% and CO2 by 23%. In addition, efficiency improvements ranged from 2-6%.

Implementation
ORYXE RFT is introduced to the fuel stream using a metered injection pumping (MIP) system. The MIP system electronically senses fuel flow and is programmed to dispense automatically the proper amount of additive directly into the fuel stream. The system allows ORYXE RFT to be interfaced into the fuel line immediately before combustion takes place. It also allows for precise measurement of fuel flow and treatment.
